The £350.00 + VAT Scheme

Everyone, unfortunately, is likely to have to deal with the death of a loved one at some time in their lives and the very last thing that is wanted is to have to deal with difficult bureaucracy at a time of bereavement. The terms, Grant of Probate and Grant of Letters of Administration, are relatively familiar but few have more than a vague idea of what each means.

A Grant of Probate is the authority given by the Probate Registry for the executors named in a will to gather together the deceased’s estate and to then distribute it according to the wishes contained in that will. A Grant of Letters of Administration on the other hand is obtained where the deceased died without leaving a will.

If there was no will then click Letters of Administration to continue.

Some Probate cases are complex and can take a very long time to complete but the overwhelming majority of cases are of relatively simple estates consisting of a few investments, some insurance, a bank account and possibly a house. Equally some wills have complex instructions but most contain just a few clauses concerning gifts to no more than a handful of people and organisations.

Most executors are well able to gather in all of the deceased’s estate and then distribute it according to wishes contained in the will. That is where our interactive scheme comes in.

For a set fee (£350 + VAT + Probate court fee's of £40) we offer a no frills service. You complete the questionnaire (see later). We then prepare the forms and obtain the Grant of Probate for you.

If you wish us to advise or do any other part of the work, then please contact us to discuss the position and our costs.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SCHEME IS ONLY INTENDED TO DEAL WITH ESTATES WHOSE GROSS VALUE DOES NOT EXCEED £300,000.00. Please see notes on our £350.00 + VAT scheme.

As in our other interactive set price schemes we undertake a set task for a set price and while we try to give some general help and warnings, it is not intended that we give advice via the scheme. If the gross estate is greater than £300,000.00 please contact us or other lawyers to discuss the position.

Please read our 'notes' and 'common questions answered' pages before proceeding to the questionnaire
